About the CITB SMSTS Course
An SMSTS qualification is an essential part of site safety management training. The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is accredited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and is nationally recognised within the construction industry.
Who is this SMSTS Course for?
Those who are in a supervisory or management role on a construction site, legally required to undertake health and safety training to help create a safe working environment. This training course is intended for project managers, site managers and site supervisors as well as proprietors of small to medium sized companies. Client-based personnel would also benefit from attending the course.
What Does the SMSTS Course Cover?
The SMSTS course is a 5 day course with a certificate valid for 5 years from completion. This course covers the following topics: -
- Health & Safety at Work Act
- Risk Assessment
- Method Statements
- Changes in Accepted Working Practices
- Confined Spaces
- Scaffolding
- Management of Occupational Health
- CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations
