About the CITB SMSTS Refresher Course
An SMSTS qualification is an essential part of site safety management training and is accredited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and nationally recognised within the construction industry.
The SMSTS Refresher Course provides the perfect overview for its delegates of legislative changes and what these changes mean for them and colleagues in their workplace.
Who is this SMSTS Refresher Course for?
The 2 day CITB SMSTS Refresher Training course is designed for candidates who have already passed the SMSTS Course. The SMSTS Certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Candidates will be required to show their original SMSTS certificate. Delegates MUST attend both days in order to obtain their certification.
What Does the SMSTS Refresher Course Cover?
This 2 day SMSTS refresher course covers the following topics: -
- Legislation, ACOP updates with discussions on impact and practical aspects of compliance
- Overview of proposed/impending legislation
- Management of Contractors
- RIDDOR - Accident statistics, costs, causes, management responsibilities/methods in prevention
- Behavioural safety including awareness of human error, stress and prevention
- HSE's current focus on construction activities
- Safety management systems, policies, plans and performance measuring
- Communication and consultation aspects, effective use of 'toolbox talks' and 'site inductions'
- Syndicate exercises
