About the CITB SSSTS Refresher Course
A SSSTS certification is an essential part of site safety supervisor training. The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is accredited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and is nationally recognised within the construction industry, endorsed by the UK Contractors Group as the standard training for all supervisors on UKCG sites.
Who is this SSSTS Refresher Course for?
This 1 day SSSTS Refresher course is aimed at first line managers, foremen, gangers, team leaders, supervisors and those who are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. This CITB SSSTS Refresher course should be taken by those with an existing SSSTS certificate before it is due to expires, otherwise the full 2 day SSSTS training course will have to be taken again.
What Does the SSSTS Refresher Course Cover?
- The structure of current health and safety law
- How the supervisory role fits in with the manager’s role in terms of site safety
- Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
- Understanding the need for method statements
- Best practice updates i.e. drug abuse, hazardous, noise, manual handling

- Communication routes within site activity
- Behavioural safety
